A commercial address

A measured retail intervention strengthens the rhythm of North Church Street.

Located on one of the last oceanfront sites in the heart of George Town, this high-end retail building is the newest addition to a growing retail corridor on the way to popular Seven Mile Beach. Given the high volume of foot traffic, the building is configured to trade along North Church Street, with a floor-to-ceiling glass façade along the road promoting high visibility to passing pedestrian and automobile traffic.

This project is the result of a long period of rigorous retail design and research and broke ground soon after the worldwide recession. The building is designed at every scale and addresses aesthetic, technical and programmatic issues while providing good-value retail space for the developer client. In addition to offering strong retail spaces, the project is careful with energy use and fortified for hurricane security.

The architecture treats the commercial façade as part of the public realm—balancing signage, access and weather protection with a disciplined material language.
