2010 / Sandon Feat Gallery /

This gallery space for a landscape painter, is intended to provide a neutral backdrop for artwork. The project takes inspiration from the Caribbean Sea and mimics the experience of walking along a beach. A select palate of finish materials are specified for the space: Quartzite floor tiles shimmer like wet sand on the beach, weathered rocks tumbled by the ocean are shaped like the chiseled furniture pieces, while an expanded metal screen ceiling camouflages layers of building systems creating depth like sky on a cloudy day. Together these elements contribute to a nature-inspired environment where artwork are exhibited and dealt.
